This is Peichen. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts in the past few weeks. My father passed away on Oct. 23rd and will have his last party on Nov. 2nd, Sunday.
I am very blessed to walk his last journey with him before I head to Seattle. I thanked him for giving me a chance to arrange his last party, otherwise both he and I will leave with lots of regrets. He always said this to me, "things you arrange, I feel easy in mind." I guess that's why he chose this timing. Smart!
60 years ago, my father said goodbye to his dear family and friends, followed army from China to Taiwan. Now it's my turn to say goodbye to him.
He always liked to be surrounded by people, talking, singing, joking... Now he finally can get rid of the pain of spine, stomach cancer and Parkinson's and sing out loud.
I don't think I can arrange a big one like Led Zepplin's, but definitely will make him feel like walking on red carpet as his wish.
Some of his friends who came to Taiwan with him 60 years ago, his old subordinates, most of my best friends from all over the cities, my coworkers and students, families, family friends and many many flowers will show up as well. Let's party!
I will leave for Seattle on Nov. 9th and start my internship at South Seattle Community College in Teaching Chinese as second/foreign language for 8 months, and keep tap dancing for sure.
Let's keep in touch and wish you the best.
Regards,
Peichen (Kaohsiung City)
